BRIGADES KEPT BUSY Lhrge *numbers of gorse fire have occurred o'f late, in the suburbs as a result of the continued dry weather. The Mount Albert Fire Brigade was called out to a lire on a section in Ferguson Avenue, Edendule,' on Tuesday, but damage was prevented. Fire threatened a bouse in Ngapulii Road? One Tree Hill yesterday, but the district brigade succeeded in keeping the blaze confined to the burning gorse. This brigade was also called out twice on Tuesday to small grass fires in Church Street and Wallath Road, Penrose. A blaze on a vacant section in Karaka Street, Milford, yesterday afternoon, was suppressed by the Takapuna Fire Brigade with little difficulty.
