LIMITED DELAYED

BROKEN ENGINE SPRING PREPARATION FOR HOLIDAY RUSH Through a spring on the engine breaking between Hangatiki and Otorohanga early this morning the Limited did not arrive at Auckland until 11 o'clock. It took 35 minutes to repair the defect. Another engine was obtained at Ootorohanga to bring the train to Auckland.

Passenger traffic is now at its height. Trains arriving • to-day carried full cargoes of passengers, and those for the South contained few, if any, vacant seats.

More passengers are patronising the Daylight Limited. To-morrow an extra train will arrive from Wellington and one will leave for the South. Special preparation has been made for a last-minute rush. Extra accommodation will be placed on the trains as it is needed and if necessary extra trains will be run.
