SPREADING SUNSHINE
SUNBEAMS ARRIVE CHEER ON THE MAUNCAPrtJI There was no lack of sunshine on the Maunganui this morning when she arrived from Sydney. . A row of smiling faces seemed to light up the deck and make it a place of happiness. The “Australian Sunbeams” lived up to their reputation this morning. They hugged their dolls, and their “Bonzos” and their flowers and their toys as they waited at the gangway to disembark. To oblige a photographer they lined along the rail and beamed beams of sunshine on to him; they shed more cheerful rays on a "movie-man” who turned the handle as they stepped on to New Zealand soil. Then there was a ride in a waiting motor-bus and sunshine simply radiated from it as the children shouted a welcome to Auckland on the way to their hotel. They looked a remarkably healthy lot. Some of them are accompanied by their mothers who will tour New Zealand with this happy band of youngsters.
