PETROL PRICES
CHANGE UNLIKELY DURING HOLIDAYS LONDON HAS “SAY-SO” (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Monday. No indication can be gathered in official circles as to when the price of petrol is likely to go up under the new tax, and it is gathered from a reliable source that the Wellington offices of the distributing comp. • "s have no idea when the change is lib ly to take place. Holidaymakers may fairly safely assure themselves, however, that there is little likelihood of higher prices for two or three weeks at least, and it is even whispered that, according to the stocks available when the impos Lien of the levy was announced, no increase ought to he made until well i i<o February. The head offices cf the larger distributing companies are m London, and it is from there that any changes will be ordered.
