REMARKABLE PATENT

GRAVITY MOTOR STARTLING POSSIBILITIES (From Our Own Correspondent) TE KUITX, To-day. An invention which promised to have far-reaching effects in the mechanical world has been patented by Mr. Alexander Anderson, of Te Kuiti, formerly of Invercargill. The device, which has been named the gravity motor, is capable or harnessing the forces of gravity and converting the same into mechanical power without the aid of fuel, such as petrol, oil, steam or gas. The inventor, Mr. Anderson, has already several successful patents to his credit, including a special manure mixer and bagger. At a private demonstration given during the week-end, tho invention displayed a mixture of novelty and ingenuity, the various parts of the mecahnism performing their functions perfectly. The demonstration model was developing 1 li.p. and was coupled to an electric dynamo which is generating power, a very small percentage of which is being utilised in a most remarkable and ingenious manner to keep the whole of tho machine in motion. The surplus power generated can be utilised to drive motors, for lighting, milking machines, etc. Without a doubt this remarkable invention bids fair to solve the problem of perpetual motion, as it can be started and will continue to run indefinitely without the aid of any outside power except the small percentage of consumption of electricity which the device is actually generating. Several prominent engineers who have been acquainted with the working of tho machine describe it as incorporating an absolutely new mechanical movement. Keen interest in the new invention is being evinced by the Auckland University and there is a possibility of the model being taken there. Developments in connection with this invention are expected in the course of a few days, when it will be possible to give minor details regarding the principles of the device.
