MEMORIAL DEDICATED TO DR- MACKELLAR

“In grateful memory of Edward Duncan Mackellar, M.D., for 37 years friend and physician of this parish. Obiit January 16, 1924. ‘Honour a physician with the honour due unto him.’ ”

This is the inscription on a tablet, placed in St. Mary's Cathedral by anonymous friends, which was dedicated by Archdeacon G. Mac Murray. assisted by the vicar, Canon Percival James, yesterday morning. Canon James spoke of the late doctor's untiring devotion to his patients and his deep and unaffected piety. The doctor had first intended to seek ordination, but had turned to the other ministry of healing, and had practised it in the spirit of St. Luke, “the beloved physician.” As his lif© had been one of love and service it was fitting that he should be honoured in the church near which he had lived and which he had loved so well.
