EASY CREDIT FOR GIRLS MAJOR GORDON’S CRITICISM • <r piME payment among girls of the present day is appalling,” said Major Annie Gordon, female probation officer, at the Police Court to-day. Chief-Detective Cummings said the girl had written to the Railway Department demanding £lO for a gramophone which she alleged had been checked. “She purchased the machine on the time-payment system,” said Major Gordon. “It is terrible the way those girls are allowed to incur debts without ever being able to pay them.
