FINES AT ONEHUNGA

TRAFFIC IRREGULARITIES At the Onehunga Police Court to-day, before Mr. J. G. L. Hewett, S.M., Thomas White was fined 10s for leaving a motorcar on the street all night. Gordon Ross, a. farmer of East Tamaki, who admitted driving a car 40 miles an hour across the Royal Oak intersection, was fined £2 and costs. For failing to notify change of ownership of a motor-cycle, C. J. Davies was fined 10s and costs. J. O. Green, Eric Lichenstein, Ernest Delaney, C. E. Gatland. for speeding across intersections in Onehunga, were each fined £2, and John Redfern and W. C. Brown. 30s, and J. E. Bishop £2 10s. SERIOUS ACCIDENT Stanley W. Hoey, while riding an unregistered motor-cycle in Manukau Road, ran into John Martin Griffen, a tramway motorman in July last, causing him serious injury and loss of wages. The cycle was the property of Raymond Robinson, who was also charged with failure to register, and refusing to give the police any information. Hoey also failed to notify the police of the accident, and both defendants, said the magistrate, had put the police to a deal of trouble. He dismissed the case against Hoey for causing the accident, without prejudice, enabling Griffen to take civil action. For trying to dodge the police, as he put it. and failing to register, and driving without a licence, each defendant was fined £5 and costs.
