ANCIENT MAORI WARRIOR LAID TO REST

The death has occurred of a famous old rangitira Maori, Hone Puhirere, aged 98 years. He was the last of the old-time warriors of Hokianga who took part in the tribal fight at Motukauri. He died at Motuti and was interred there during the week-end. Over JOG natives attended the funeral.
