TOMATO-GROWERS MEET Although it would be necessary to increase the membership, the report presented at the annual meeting of the executive of the Auckland Tomato and Stone-Fruit Growers* Association last evening stated that satisfactory progress was being made. The membership at present totalled 100. It was stated by Mr. G. A. Green, secretary, that he had recently visited southern districts and from all indications there would be a record crcp of tomatoes. Good distribution would be required to avoid a glut. A committee was set up to interview brokers on the question of advertising. It was suggested that a penny stamp for each 12th box should be instituted for that purpose. A promise was received from the Railway Department for all possible facilities in connection with the express transit of tomatoes and stone fruits. - —-■
