LITTLE GIRL’S DEATH Press Association. WELLINGTON, Thursday. Pamela Martin, aged five years, who resided at 26, Nelson Street, Petone, died in the public hospital at 5 p.m. today from injuries received through being knocked down by a motor-lorry in Adelaide Road. The child was with her grandmother, Mrs. Emma Louisa Standen. Mrs. Standen was alighting from a tram at the Brown Street stop in Adelaide Road when the child darted from her grandmother’s side and ran straight into a tramway lorry, which was being driven in the direction of the city. The rear right-hand wheel passed over her. The child was taken to the hospital suffering from scalp wounds, concussion and internal injuries, and death took place an hour after admission.
