JAVELIN AND CRICKET BALL
Stan. Lay, the New Zealand champion javelin thrower, first attracted attention by the way he used to throw a cricket ball in from the long field. Lay still combines the two sports—after winning the javelin championship at Christchurch last Saturday, he returned home this week ready to play for the Taranaki reps in the Hawke Cup match against Wanganui this week.
