December 24—January Silver King, of the Avondale troop, reports as follows: “Troop Leader Keith Taylor has been promoted to Acting Assistant-Scoutmaster and Patrol Leader E. Horan has been appointed ; Troop Leader. Second D. Blackman (Black Wolf) has been made Patrol Leader. Black Wolf writes that he has now 17 badges and requires only one more to win his Third All-Round Cords (gold). J The Kitchener Scouts and Cubs held

a wind-up evening- at their troop headquarters, Mount Eden, last Friday, when the new trek cart imported by the troop was on exhibition. At the conclusion of the meeting tho.se present were addressed by Scoutmaster A. S. Oxley, Mr. A. G. Brown, chairman of the troop committee, and the District Scoutmaster, Mr. E. B. B. Boswell. A new troop committee has been formed to assist the Tahutimai Scouts. The troop is at present in charge of Acting Scoutmaster K. Aburn. assisted ■%>y Troop Leader S. Barrett (Big Brown Bear).
