TO KAURI FORESTS
WEEK-END EXCURSIONS DEPARTMENT MAY RUN TRAINS The Railway Department is considering the question of running week-end excursions to the kauri forests. ... The area which will be visited will be Aranga, in the Dargaville district. Recently* there has been considerable active interest displayed by those who are anxious that Aucklanders should see the magnificent forest, ana the excursions should be well patronised. The distance is not very great and tho journey could be done quite comfortably. This will be a splendid opportunity to see some of the finest of the remaining kauri trees in the North. Usually several days are occupied in visiting the district, but should the Railway Department decide to run the excursions one of the finest sights in the world will be possible for those who cannot afford to spend a long time in going there and back. In all probability the decision will be made within a few days.
