Russell, of Hastings, is the guest of Mrs. A. M. Ferguson, Victoria Avenue, Remuera. * * * Mrs. R. Towle has returned to Auckland after spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs. R. J. Water, of. Dunedin, is the guest of Mrs. Phillips, Epsom. Mrs. E. Somerville, of Christchurch, is visiting Auckland, and is staying with Mrs. Raymond Johnson, of Devonport. * * * Mrs. W. Crampton, of Ohakune, has returned home after a visit to Auckland. Mrs. J. Parrott, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. W. P. Sommerville, of Wellington, have arrived in Auckland. Miss Rita Jackson, of Kaikoiira, who has been staying with Miss Phyllis Hamilton, of Shirley, is visiting Auckland. * * * Mrs. H. Buckleton has arrived from Wellington, and is staying with Mrs. Sidney Nathan, Tavistock, Dilworth Avenue. ♦ * * Mrs. G. D. Greenwood, of Christchurch, arrived by the Limited this morning and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Miss Naomi Whalley arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. * * * Mr. and Mrs. L. Browning and M.r. and Mrs. A. Wagstaffe, of Wellington, and Miss L. Jackson, of New York, are among those staying at the Grand Hotel. # • • Mrs. W. Clarke, of Sydney, and Mrs. N. Barton, of Wellington, are staying at the Albert Hotel. AN ENGAGEMENT The engagement is announced of Isabella Erana, only daughter of Mrs. and the late John Mitchell McLachlan, Mount Eden, to Edward Bongard, elder son of Mrs. and the late Edward Alfred Waters, Mount Eden.
