BOY KILLED BY MOTORCAR
RETURNING FROM SCHOOL
FATALITY AT GLENBROOK
Frederick Alfred Holman, 10, a schoolboy, was killed near the Glenbrook School, in the Waiuku district, yesterday afternoon, as a result of colliding with a motorcar. He was riding a bicycle at the time of the accident.
An inquest was formally opened this morning at Glenbrook before the district coroner, Mr. A. N. Barriball. After the body had been* identified, the inquest was adjourned until Monday morning. Frederick Alfred Holman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Holman, of Glenbrook. He attended school during the afternoon, and on leaving was proceeding down the hill near the school when he collided with a chr driven by Mrs. H. O. Mellsop. It was at once seen that the boy was badly injured. Mrs. Mellsop drove him to the Franklin Memorial Hospital, but he was dead before he arrived there.
Medical opinion is to the effect that death was probably instantaneous.
