HOLLAND GETS JAVA ON RADIO TELEPHONE
NEWSPAPERS LISTEN By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Thursday. Telegraphic advices which have been received in London from Java say that a highly successful result attended the first experiment- of the press news service transmitted by radio telephony from The Hague. Not only- did the receiving stations in Java receive the messages, - but newspaper offices in Cairo, Bombay, and Shanghai, which previously were warned, also listened in. The Java ofiices report that the first two sections of the transmission were good, and the third excellent, even the speakers’ voices being recognisable. , . _ „ . The experiment lasted tor two hours and listeners say the reception was equal to the local town telephony, and better than the inter-town tails. A speed of 60 words a minute was maintained. —A. and N.Z--Sun.
