“SOFT CUSHIONS”
REQUIRED THREE STUDIOS Because of the number and size of its settings, Douglas Mac Lean's Paramount comedy, “Soft Cushions,” was filmed in three studios. Despite the large stage space available there, Mac Lean discovered that it would bo necessary to secure outside space. Accordingly the exterior street scenes were filmed at the Lusky ranch where a huge oriental city served as background for several days’ work. Then it was found necessary to leave additional space in a third studio to accommodate one more elaborate set which will occupy a complete stage at the Associated Studio. “Soft Cushions,” from the pen of the lato George Randolph Chester, is an ultra-modern comedy drama played against oriental background. Eddie dine, who contributed so much to Mac Lean's success in “Let It Rain.” iigain directed the comedian in this Paramount picture. Headed by Sue Carol. the young actress recently signed for a long term by Mac Lean, a notable cast includes Richard Carle, Itussetl Powell, Frank Leigh, Nigel de Brulier, \Va3e Boteler, Harvey Clark, pred Kelsey and Harry Jones.
