“LOST” HIS SHIP
DESERTER FROM KIA ORA SENT TO GAOL FOR 14 DAYS "I lost my ship-—I didn’t desert her,” said Edwin Hallam, aged 55, at the Police Court to-day. He pleaded not guilty to a charge of deserting from the S.S. Kia Ora. It was said that accused was missing from the ship before breakfast on the day she sailed for England. He was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment.
