GEORGE 111. GUINEA FINDS NEW OWNER ON AUCKLAND STREET
A COUNTERFEIT guinea of George 111. lay in an Auckland gutter this week awaiting an owner. A citizen, passing along Symonds Street, was amazed at his find, which was dated 1790. It is thought that the guinea—it had been cast from a die in the ordinary manner—had been used as a counter in some game which subjects of the Farmer-King enjoyed. '# •¥.
