At the request of the Education Department, which wrote expressing regret at the inadequate playing area, it was decided to send plans of proposed extensions. It was decide to have all the furniture and stock for which the department was not responsible insured. A tribute was paid to the services of Mr. F. J. Ohlson, who was retiring from the evening school staff after 28 years’ service. Miss Winifred Hitchen, home science teacher at Gisborne, was appointed to the same position at the college.
