Several golf-courses can claim a green with a clearing bell. The approach being blind, the bell is rung by couples as they hole out and get clear. But such an elaborate apparatus as this, almost as sturdy and dignified as many a church belfry, is not commonly met with. The scene is the 13th green on the course in the Jasper National Park, in the Canadian Rockies. This club, situated in surroundings of superb natural beauty, was opened by Earl Haig two years ago.
