BREAK FROM MT. EDEP

WARDER STUNNED BY BLO¥ PRISONER JUMPS FROM WINDOW At two o’clock this morning a prisoner made a daring escape from the Mount Eden Gaol. In the early hours of the morning the men working in the bakehouse are practically the only prisoners whc are not locked in their cells. These men are alllowed a certain amount ol freedom to enable them to do theii work properly. Grant must have planned the tim6 of his escape very carefully. There would be few warders about, and although there was a moon, the shadows and the undergrowth in the vicinity of the prison would afford him good cover. Grant is 33 year* of age. sft 4in in height and of medium build. He has a fair complexion and blue eyes. All police districts have been notified of the escape and a search is being made of the district in which Grant lived before, he was sentenced to imprisonment.
