The bowling averages were Grimmett, 3-175; Williams, 2-119; Halcombe, 1-119; Whitfield, 1-100; Schneider, 1-23. South Australia in the first innings made 117. . Morton took four wickets for 35, and Ironmonger five for 50. In the second innings South Australia had made 54 for no wickets when stumps were drawn. Rain during the night made the pitch wet and slippery, but the weather to-day kept fair! South Australia made a poor showing against the bowling of Morton and Ironmonger, who took every advantage of the state of the pitch.—A and N.Z.
