MANUKA AT MELBOURNE.—The Union Company is in receipt of cable advice stating that the Manuka, from Wellington, arrived at Melbourne at 7 p.m. on Thursday last. HUNTINGDON LEAVES PANAMA. — Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Federal steamer Huntingdon arrived at Panama on November 28 from Liverpool, sailed again on November 29 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. The vessel is due at Auckland about December 22. SUTHERLAND TO DOCK.—Henderson and Macfarlane have been advised that the tramp steamer Sutherland, which has been discharging Ocean Island phosphates at Dunedin, docks at Port Chalmers to-day for cleaning and painting. The vessel leaves the Otago port to-mor-row for Westport for bunkers before proceeding to Nauru Island to load for Australia. CARGO FROM HALIFAX.—The Canadian Government Agency advises that the Canadian Challenger will leave Plalifax on December 24 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. The Canadian Highlander (in place of the Canadian Scottish), will sail from Halifax on January 25 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. CITY OF WINCHESTER.—Due at Wellington to-day from Cape Town, the City of Winchester will commence loading there under the auspices of Shaw, SaviH, and Albion Company. From Wellington the vessel proceeds to Napier, thence Gisborne, New Plymouth, Timaru and Port Chalmers to complete and sails finally from the Otago port on January G for London via Panama. MARAMA FROM SYDNEY LATE. According to a radio message received by the Union Company, the passenger steamer Mararaa is expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at 1 p.m. from Sydney. After pratique has been granted, the Marama will berth about 2 p.m. at the Queen’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. The vessel leaves here at 3 p.m. next Friday on her return trip to Sydney. LOADING FOR PORT SAlD.—Heather, Robertori and Company have been advised that the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Curtis, now discharging New York cargo at Dunedin, leaves to-morrow for New Plymouth to continue her discharge. From the Taranaki port the vessel proceeds to Napier to load frozen meat for Port Said and then comes on to Auckland for further loading. She is due here on December 16 and sails the following day for Australia to complete discharge and to continue her loading. PORT FREMANTLE TO LOAD.—To commence loading for Home the C. and D. Line’s motor-ship Port Fremantle arrived at New Plymouth this morning from Hobart. The vessel is to leave the Taranaki port on Thursday for Auckland and is due here next Saturday. On December 14 the Port Fremantle sails from Auckland for Gisborne, thence Lyttelton, Wellington and Napier to complete her loading and is scheduled to leave Napier finally on December 30 for London via Panama.

WEST CALERA FROM AMERICA.— From West Coast ports of North America, the American-Australia-Ori-ent Line steamer, West Calera, arrived at Auckland on aeturday evening last and berthed at King's Wharf. She loaded at the usual ports, Vancouver, Portland. Seattle, San Francisco and San Pedro, leaving finally for New Zealand from the last-named on November 8. Fine weather conditions prevailed throughout the voyage, until about a week ago, when the AVest Calera encountered fresh winds and heavy seas which caused her to reduce speed for a time. Conditions soon moderated, and the vessel arrived at Auckland only a few* hours behind schedule. The West Calera was in Auckland last on June 16 of this year, when she brought a similar cargo to this one, consisting mainly of lumber, case oil and general merchandise, and after putting out some of it here she proceeded to Australian ports to complete discharge. The local-agents, and Macfarlane, Limited, hope to dispatch the AVest Calera on Saturday next for AVellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth to complete discharge. From the last-named port she will return in ballast to the Pacific Coast.
