WHY THE REFUSAL?

FOR some unknown reason the Auckland City Council Has refused the application of the Swimimng Centre for the use of the Tepid Baths one night a week for water polo practice. This seems rather hard, especially when it is remembered that the council granted the night last season. It is little enough to do, and although the centre has decided to make no further application, it would be rather interesting to know why the City Fathers have taken up this attitude. One delegate suggested that it was refused because of the attitude of the centre in regard to Dixieland and the proposed baths at Point Chevalier, but who knows ?
