Fatal Crash of Motor Cycles
ONE MAN DEAD ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED Press Association. TE AWAMUTTJ, To-day. A fatal accident occurred about 10 o’clock last night on the Terahu Road, two miles from Te Awamutu. Eric Storey, aged 23, son of Mr. A. H. Storey, a well-known district farmer, and Nelson Jackson, about the same age, a farm hand employed by H. Focke, both riding motor-cycles, met in a head-on collision. When they were found about half an hour later both were unconscious lying on the roadside some yards apart. Storey was under his machine, which was smouldering. Help was quickly sent for and as both men were terribly injured they were removed to the Waikato Hospital. Jackson died practically on arrival, and Storey is still unconscious. Storey was a prominent Rugby footballer. An inquest was opened in Hamilton this morning before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., when formal evidence of identification was taken and the proceedings adjourned sine die.
