WAR MEMORIAL SITE CAUSES DISPUTE
FORMER MAYOR SUED (Special to THE SUN.) . WANGANUI, AA'ed. In a reserved judgment to-day, Mr. Justice Ostler awarded £567, including interest at 7 per cent., to Messrs. AV. J. Poison and AATlson, who claimed trorn Mr. Hope Gibbons, a former Mayor of AA r anganui, through the Supreme Court, the sum of £415 with interest for the section ,of land on Durie Hill upon which .the war memorial stands. The defendant claimed that the land jhad been a gift, but this-was disputed by the plaintiffs. After hearing evidence Mr. Justice Ostler reserved judgment.
