COST OF EDUCATION

PUBLICITY CORRECTS ERROR NEW RETURNS DRAWN UP Publicity given by THE SUN to statistics dealing with the cost of education has resulted in new returns being drawn up. At the last fleeting of the Auckland Education Board the chairman, Mr. A. Burns, thanked THE SUN for giving the board the opportunity to refute the figures contained in the returns submitted to Parliament. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Education have both written to the board expressing regret that a mistake had been made in the figures relating to administration costs of education boards. An amended return is to be prepared and placed on the table of the House.
