POPPYLAND FAIR

METHODISTS RAISE £1,300 The financial statement of the Poppyland Fair held recently by the Dominion Road Methodist Church was presented by the secretary, Mr. S. A. Bennett, at a social iri the Centenary Hall on Monday evening. A sum of over ,£1,300 was raised toward the Sunday school building fund. Tho area leaders in the drive, Messrs. Chappell, Burton, Higgott and Whitehead, gave short accounts of their work and the part played by their respective areas. The Rev. L. R. Dal’oy congratulated the congregation on the result of its work, and paid a tribute to the women helpers for their efforts. The minister, the Rev. W. Rowe, presented Mr. Bennett with a travelling bag and rug on behalf of the workers. Items were given by Messrs. Clark, Robson. Higgott and Mutton.
