NORTH-EAST FRANCE TERRORISED POLISH BANDITS TO DIE By Cable.— Press Association.—Copyright PARIS, Sunday. The biggest criminal trial for many years, which lasted for 25 days, has ended after an all-night •itting of the court, when a gang known as "the Polish-bandits” was •entenced. Twb men were sentenced to death, one to penal servitude for life, four to imprisonment for 10 years, seven to imprisonment for five years, and three to imprisonment for four years. One *°man was sentenced to seclusion for eight years. The criminals were Polish labourers, who had found work in the war-de-vastated area for the past two years. had terrorised North-eastern trance by attacking and murdering meh on the roadsides, and thieving Piltry sums from their victims. The wtarges included 11 murders and attempted murders and 68 of wouudings at *u assaults.
