Manakau Yacht Club

Elsie, which was the champion cup winner lor three years in succession, is now down after being in the shed for two seasons, and hopes to take part in the harbour race on Saturday. She is looking very well and will no doubt make a good showing. • * • Naughty Girl has been renovated throughout, and looks beautiful. She will most probably race next Saturday, and as usual will be expected to throw the water aside in good style. Aoma, champion of Tamaki, is now on the Manukau, but at present has not thrown in her lot with the club. It is to be hoped she will join the ranks, and enjoy the good fellowship which is shown to all new-comers. * £ It would be interesting to see this boat together with Cupid, Sea Gnome, Sea Toiler, as they are all smart little boats, and being so, the handling would be a deciding factor. Although nominated for.last Saturday, Sea Gnome did not compete in the harbour race, but it is to be hoped that next Saturday she will race, and there is no doubt that her owners will give a good account of her. # * 9 Ngaroma is still on the bank, but Mr. Jeffs has passed her over to A. Bates, one of his late crew, who will have the landling of her for the season. * * * Ahuru, belonging to the Fraser Bros., of Te Papa, who are working like Trojans, hope to have their boat down and competing in the cruising race next Saturday week. She should be a smart Tttle craft, and is being thoroughly overhauled. * * * The working boats have all joined the club and some very interesting racing will be no doubt seen in the near future. It is interesting to note the which used to belong to the Auckland Harbour Board, and now working on the Vlanukau, has now Mr. Allmer for her owner, who is taking a keen interest in the sport. * * * Mr. Paul, owner of the Sea Wolf, has just installed a Hall Scott engine, and eventualities are awaited.

Regal and Rainbow will both race next Saturday, both their owners being keen and good feeling exists between the crews.
