NEW LAUNCH FOR WAITEMATA
A welcome addition to the Waitemata’s fleet of launches will be a new boat called Aloha. This cruiser was designed and built to the order of Mr. W. Thomas, of College Hill, by Mr. Chas. Robinson, of Rotorua. Aloha, which is 38 feet long by 9ft 6in beam, is a picture of sjwnmetry of which any designer would be proud. The new boat has comfortable for’ard accommodation, and an easy run aft to a good floor. She has a head room of 6ft 3in throughout, with a fore cabin of 7ft 6in. In this cabin are folding bunks that give the maximum of room during the day. The main Cabin is 14ft long, and is replete with wardrobes, cupboards, and cooking facilities. The walls are grained throughout in light oak, giving the ship a very pleasing interior effect. Aloha is powered with a 35-h.p. motor, that should give a cruising speed of eight, knots. Her owner intends to make a cruise to the Bay of Islands and the Great Barrier at Christmas time.
