DEER STALKING

OPENING THE SEASON At a meeting of the Waimarino Acclimatisation Society held last week it was decided to get the date of the. deer season in line with that of the Rotorua Society so as to save confusion to deer-stalke.rs. The Rotorua boundary adjoins that of Waimarino, and if the dates of the season do not run concurrently it is liable to cause those holding licences some concern. After discussion the meeting passed the following resolution: “That the regulations for deer be the same as last year, five stags (not less than 10 points), and five hinds, with th© exception of the dates, which will be fixed on the receipt of information by the secretary from Rotorua.” An urgent wire was sent by the secretary, a reply to which is now awaited. ——.
