FIRE AT WAIHI

FURNITURE DESTROYED OUTBREAK IN WASH-HOUSE (From Our Own Correspondent) WAIHI, To-day. A fire occurred in the wash-house : attached to the residence of Mr. I Thomas F. Omant, Silverton Road. Waihi, at 9 p.m. on Saturday, and destroyed furniture and effects to the value of £ 100. Mr. Omant had had the copper fire alight early in the evening, but on locking up the place at 7.50. prior to going to the the fire seemed dead and everytning all right. The furniture destroyed had been nlaced in the wash-house during alteration to the premises. Both the building and furniture were covered with insurance in the Norwich Company.
