WAIUKU CLUB
NEW OFFICERS ELECTED The annual general meeting of the Waiuku Club (incor.) was held on Friday night, when the president, Mr. A. White, presided over a fair attendance of members. The annual report and balance sheet showed a loss on the year’s working of the club. The following officers were elected: President. Col. M. Aldred; vice-president, Mr. J. M. Heise; secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. C. Munro; committee, Messrs. A. White (ex-officio), R. J. Barriball, IT. King, J. M. Leherty, L. Blackler and G. V. Williams; auditor, W. Clarke. A motion to make a levy of £1 Is on town and country members was carried.
Before retiring from the chair, Mr. White presented the winners of the following tournaments with prizes: Shakespear Cup, Mr. J. M. Heise; run-ner-up, Col. M. Aldred; snooker tournament, L. Blackler; runner-up, J. Arkle; highest break by a member under 26 years, L. Blackler. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring officers. Mr. L. F. Shakespear was unanimously elected a lifemember of the club.
