DAVIS CUP TENNIS
AMERICAN CHALLENGE Bp Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. NEW YORK, Thursday. It is announced that the United States will challenge for the American zone in the Davis Cup matches. This decision, which must yet be approved by the executive committee of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, is based on a desire to make it unnecessary for a team to sail to Europe in March. This would have been essential if America had challenged for the European zone matches. The team will thus not sail until June.—A. and N.Z.
