WOOL PRICES LATEST FROM LONDON PRICES VERY FIRM Reed. noon. LONDON, Friday, j At the wool sales, 11,139 bales were > offered, of which Australian totalled 8,568, and New Zealand 2,571. Thero was an excellent selection of ! Merinos, principally suitable for the Continent. The offering of crossbreds was chiefly slipes and scoureds. There was a strong demand for all sorts, and very few withdrawals. Prices were very firm. New Zealand —Hiko, top 43d, average 41 id; Tyo, 41d. 38d.—A. and N.Z. NEW WOOL-PACK INVENTION BY WOMAN LONDON. Thursday. Twelve bales of Wingadee wool, in a new hemp-lined pack, invented by ’ Mrs. Mary Baird, of Sydney have been exhibited in London. Buyers did not show much interest in the exhibit. Some experts say they consider the pack is not likely to be a success and that ; they prefer the Aykroyd wire and paper pack—A. and N.Z.
