CONSERVATIVE WIN By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Reed. noon. LONDON, Friday. THE Canterbury by-election, made A necessary by Mr. Ronald McNeill’s elevation to the peerage, resulted: — Sir W. Wayland (Conserv.) 13,057 Colonel D. Carnegie (Lib.) . 10,175 A. and N.Z.-Sun. At the last general election the Right Hon. Ronald McNeill (Conservative) polled 16,693 votes. Colonel D. Carnegie polled 7,061.
