Gesture of Contempt
EX-KAISER AND WEDDING PRESENT FROM DOORN By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 12.49 p.m. BONN, Monday. The ex-Kaiser has abandoned his attitude of indifference to his sister’s wedding only to make a gesture of contempt. On the occasion of the religious ceremony to-day, when the bride and bridegroom and the guests had assembled at Sehaumberg Castle, a messenger brought a parcel from Doom. It contained a book entitled, “Revolution From Above, Disaster From Below,” being a history of the German Empire from 1914 to 1918. Throughout the ceremony, the Brincess stood in the flood of a merciless light from spotlights trained on her for the purpose of the cinematograph. She looked no older than 35. She wore a lace veil that once belonged to the Empress Fredrick. The bridegroom, Alexander Zoubkoff, immaculate in morning dress, chatted to the guests in English, German and Russian. —A. and N.Z.
