Y.W.C.A. CONCERT
| The Girl Citizens of the Y.W.C.A. gave a splendid concert in aid of the Conference Fund at the Whangarei Parochial Hall on Friday evenig. The citizens were assisted by Misses Jean Fraser, sword dance ; Eileen Blane,: toe dancing: and Freda Lacey* piano solo. The rest of the first half of the programme was devoted to Chinese lantern drill by the Citizens and several solos by members. The short play. “The Sleeping Beauty” was staged during the second half. There were 22 performers in all, the principal being: Princess. Miss Beryl Crawford. Prince, Elva Beauraan; King. Iva Bramley: Queen, Vera Cochrane: cook, Phyllis Woodbridge; page, Eileen Sands: jester, Edie James. Special thanks were due to Messrs. W. C. ! Bell and O. Beauman, who supervised | the scene-shifting, and Mrs. George l W oolley, who played the accompaaij nients. - The Citizens are contemplati i n o repeating the performance.
