MATANGI FARMER FAILS

CANNOT MEET INTEREST Mr. J. H. Robertson, official assignee, presided at a meeting of creditors in the estate of George Michael CJancey, farmer, of Matangi, yesterday. The schedule filed showed debts totalling £3,106 5s 6d, arid assets totalling £3,213 8s lOd, a nominal surplus of £lO7 3s 4d. Debts to unsecured creditors totalled £373 11s 6d, and to secured creditors £2,732 14s. Bankrupt said he bought 50 acres of land at £4O and acre and paid £SO deposit. Two accidents cost him a lot of money and he could not pay his interest. It was decided to facilitate discharge and the realisation of the estate was left to the assignee.
