AUTHORITY FOR SUBSIDIES UNEMPLOYMENT PAYMENTS (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Authority for the payment of several subsidies on work projected in Auckland district has been given by the Minister of Public Works. A £1 for £1 subsidy, of £7O is granted out of unemployed relief fund on improvements to O’Neill’s Point Cemetery, estimated to cost £l4O. This is additional to the previous subsidy for the same work. A subsidy, £1 for £l, of £403 is given for improvements to Stanley Bay Park. There is an offer of £ 300 from the Auckland City Council on this work, conditional upon the Government subsidy, while an additional £1 00 has been raised publicly for tennis court formation, and £6O contributed by the Stanley Bay Park Improvement Association. The cost of the additional work at Stanley Bay is estimated ’.o be £926. A previous subsidy of £1 for £1 on £SSS was made for this purpose.
