N.Z. V THE REST FINE WEATHER PREVAILS Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. FINE weather prevailed fpr the cricket match New Zealand v. The Rest, which began at two o’clock this afternoon. The teams were: New Zealand. —Lowry, Dempster, Mills, Page, Blunt, James, McGirr, Oliver, Allcott, Merritt and Bernau. The Rest. —Reed, Langridge, Newman, Badcoek, Foley, Gillespie, Nixon, Boon, McEwan, Massey and Matheson. It was announced by Mr. D. Reese, chairman of the New Zealand Cricket Council, yesterday afternoon that R, Reed had been appointed captain of The Rest.
