PROGRESS OF WORK REPORT BY CHAIRMAN Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. Reporting to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the chairman, Mr. Shirtcliffe, says real progress has been made toward launching a programme of research covering cereal products. Pending the erection of Massey College, temporary accommodation is # being provided for the dairy research staff. Dr. F. H. McDowall, research chemist, is visting America, Britain and the Continent with a view to studying the latest research methods and problems. Mr. Shirtcliffe mentions the approaching visit of the Right Hon. L. S. Amery, whose association with the Empire Marketing Board will afford opportunity for placing before the Home authorities the desire of the council for Imperial research co-operation as well as local attitude toward the conduct of any such scheme.
