The subject being one of policy, the Lands Committee of the House of Representatives had no recommenda.tion to make to the House to-day on the petition of 636 North Auckland gumdiggers who sought repeal of the Kauri Gum (jontrol Act. No recommendations were made by the same committee on the petitions of J. R. Overton, of Auckland, for compensation, and Flora Commins, of Mareretu, for compensation. The Public Health Committee made no recommendations on several petitions from Kawakawa, Bay of Islands, for exemption of school children from compulsory medical examination.
