CANDIDATES ACCEPTED
PREPARATIONS FOR SYNOD Preliminary to the opening of the Auckland District Methodist Synod, a ! committee yesterday examined candi- ! dates for training and for the ministry. The Rev. H. S. Kings, of Kaeo. was recommended for ordination. Messrs. J. D. Grocott, C. O. Hailwood. F. J. Handy, F. H. Hayman, and H. H. Jeffreys, theological students, were recommended for probationary appointments, and Messrs. G. R. Bowden, R. I Dudley, F. D. Hoten. and I. S. Williamson, candidates for the ministry, were recommended for training. Dr. H. Ranston delivered an address on the claims of the Christian ministry, and in the evening Dr. C. H. Laws preached the synod sermon in the Pitt Street Methodist Church.
