EXCEEDED 41,000 DAILY.
Quite properly advertising charges should be based mainly on circulation. THE SUN'S daily contract rate for display advertising is 2s 6d per single column inch. According to the Auckland “Star's” calculation, given above, a 20.000 circulation is worth 3s an inch. What the advertiser would like to know is why he should pay the 5s 6d charged for,a circulation of 45.000 when the best audit the ‘Star” can show is about 41,000. Perhaps Mr. Leys can supply the answer.
