ACTIVITIES WEEK BY WEEK
A booklet is being prepared by the office staff describing the various motorists’ camping grounds in the North Island. These booklets will be distributed free to members, probably being enclosed with the individual itineraries when they are posted. * * * At the last meeting of the council, 128 new members were elected for the month. This makes a daily average of 18 new members joining the association. Members of the association are reminded that the earlier their proposed Christmas trip is sent in to the office the greater care can be given to the drawing up their itinerary. The Hamilton agency of the A.A.A. will be open over the Christmas holidays. Mr. Champtaloup v/ill be in attendance to deal with tourists’ inquiries. The service officer has chosen Hamilton as his station on account of its proximity to highways which are likely to give trouble in wet weather. In the event of rain Mr. Champtaloup will be able to make a rush visit to either the Kaimai Hills or the Mamaku Bush. Arrangements have been made for reports regarding the road at Silverdale to be available at the Auckland bureau.
