TWO MORE BODIES
SYDNEY FERRY DISASTER ASSESSOR RESIGNS By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. Reed. 9.35 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. Two more bodies—those of John Stinson Carroll, of Watson’s Bay, and Eliza Louisa Asher, of Vaucluse—were found floating in the harbour near the scene of the collision between the Tahiti and the ferry steamer Greycliffe. Captain Howell, one of the assessors appointed by the Commonwealth Navigation Department to inquire Into the disaster, resigned, as he had made a marine survey of the Tahiti in the interests of the owners, from whom he had accepted fees. Consequently the regulations prevented Captain Howell from sitting at the inquiry to watch the interests of the Crown.— A. and N.Z.
